भारत में Engineering आज भी सबसे ज़्यादा पसंद किए जाने वाले career options में से एक है। हर साल लाखों students JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) की तैयारी करते हैं, लेकिन तैयारी के दौरान एक सवाल सबसे ज़्यादा उलझन पैदा करता है—

JEE Main और JEE Advanced में फर्क क्या है?

कौन-सी परीक्षा से कौन-सा college मिलता है?

और दोनों के लिए preparation strategy कितनी अलग होनी चाहिए?

JEE Main को National Testing Agency (NTA) conduct करती है।
यह exam Engineering admissions के लिए first screening test माना जाता है।

JEE Main से किन colleges में admission मिलता है?

• 31 NITs (National Institutes of Technology)

• 26 IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology)

• 26+ GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes)

• DTU, NSUT जैसे top state universities

• कई reputed private engineering colleges

सबसे अहम बात यह है कि JEE Advanced देने के लिए qualify करना JEE Main के बिना possible नहीं है।

JEE Advanced: IIT तक पहुँचने की final परीक्षा

JEE Advanced को दुनिया की सबसे tough undergraduate entrance exams में गिना जाता है।
इसे हर साल अलग-अलग IITs rotational basis पर conduct करते हैं।

JEE Advanced का मुख्य उद्देश्य

• भारत के 23 IITs में admission

• ऐसे students का selection, जिनकी conceptual clarity और problem-solving ability exceptional हो

Competition कितना tough है? Numbers खुद कहानी बताते हैं

• JEE Main में हर साल 14 लाख से ज़्यादा students register करते हैं

• इनमें से सिर्फ़ करीब 2.5 लाख students JEE Advanced के लिए qualify करते हैं

• लेकिन IITs की total seats लगभग 18,000 ही हैं

यानि JEE Advanced qualify करने के बाद भी हर दूसरा student IIT seat से बाहर रह जाता है।

Attempts की limit: कितनी बार दे सकते हैं exam?

JEE Main

• Maximum 3 attempts

• Class 12 में एक attempt

• उसके बाद लगातार दो साल

JEE Advanced

• सिर्फ़ 2 attempts

• Class 12 के साल में और उसके अगले साल

यही limited attempts इस exam को mentally भी काफ़ी stressful बनाते हैं।

Eligibility Criteria: कौन eligible होता है?

JEE देने के लिए students को Class 12 में:

• Physics, Chemistry और Mathematics पढ़ना ज़रूरी है

Minimum marks requirement

• General category:

  • 75% marks या

  • Board के Top 20 Percentile में होना

• Reserved category:

  • Minimum 65% marks

Percentile rule इसलिए रखा गया है ताकि अलग-अलग boards के marking difference से students को नुकसान न हो।

JEE Main Exam Pattern

• Duration: 3 hours

• Mode: Computer Based Test

• Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (equal weightage)

• MCQs में negative marking होती है

JEE Advanced Exam Pattern

• Two papers: Paper-1 और Paper-2

• Questions और marking scheme हर साल बदलती रहती है

Real difference कहाँ है?

Syllabus same होने के बावजूद,
JEE Advanced questions ज़्यादा deep, conceptual और application-based होते हैं, जबकि JEE Main में speed और accuracy ज़्यादा matter करती है।

JEE Main हर साल दो sessions में conduct होता है—

• April

Students दोनों attempts दे सकते हैं और best score के आधार पर final rank बनती है।
